What did the serpent say?
Ahoy friends. I’ve at least three things to share with you.
Come celebrate the launch of Snake Talk
The Rekindling—our semi-sporadic pseudo-druidic gathering of bright minds and warm hearts—is back for what might be our final event.*
* My co-host PK is moving to Tasmania to begin a new chapter with the fam. It’s too soon for me to project my want unto this new venture but... who knows. Rekindling campover one day?
This time we are celebrating the launch of Tyson Yunkaporta and Megan Kelleher’s new book—Snake Talk: How the world’s ancient serpent stories can guide us.

The event is happening in September, and we would love to have you join us. As ever, these events tend to sell out mighty fast. So if you fancy coming along, head to the event page for dates and details. I’d so love to see you—it’s been too long!

I’ll be writing a dedicated museletter in reflection of Snake Talk soon. I am also plotting to chat with Tyson and Megan on the podcast someday (as I have deep empathy for those of you who are subscribed yet cannot attend the local events I host). Stay tuned.
Living, learning, and leading (in a time between worlds)

Last week I spoke at an event for school principals and education leaders. I promised the audience I would follow up with a museletter and some notes. Somehow this translated into a 3,000 word essay on ‘heretical education’.

If you’re a principal, an education leader, a parent, an uncle or aunty, or even just a principled person who cares about our planet and the world we are co-creating—I think you’d relish in this musing. It contains apt and appropriate themes of subversive leadership, a warm tirade against over-measurement, and a healthy sampling of quotes from Dr. Zachary Stein’s book Education in a Time Between Worlds.
Listen to episode 5 of Kindred Spirits
It’s my favouritest episode thus far.

In episode 5 of Kindred Spirits, John Anthony and I venture into domains of death, grief, gratitude, the brain, the mind, buttered crumpets, whim-fulfilment, hermetic “Fourth Way” sensibilities, overriding automaticity, and the role of surreptitious obliquity (or: why complex goals oughtn’t be approached directly).
That’s all for now. I mean, I have so much more to share. I’ve some wondrous offerings in the works for you. Come to The Rekindling and I’ll tell you more. 🦊
Warmth,
Jason
