Guidance for all who quest

It’s dangerous to go alone...
Here, take this orb.

You might have noticed that my speaking and consulting skews heavily toward executive leaders. That’s the mercenary wizard in me—smuggling quickening fox magics into the heart of Enterprise Land, so as to robin hood the coin to fund the real work.

And what is this ‘real work,’ pray tell?
Why, it is much the same as yours, I’m sure.

The poet Wendell Berry writes:[^ This is Our Real Work, from Standing by Words.]

It may be that when we no longer know what to do
we have come to our real work,
and that when we no longer know which way to go
we have come to our real journey.
The mind that is not baffled is not employed.
The impeded stream is the one that sings.

I’m not here to offer easy answers, nor mirror the advice given by large language models. If it were that easy, you wouldn’t be here, seeking the guidance of this enigmatic fox wizard. (⸝⸝> ᴗ•⸝⸝)

There are three fields I am well-suited to:

  • Liminal Leadership—what to do when you no longer know what to do (or which way to go) + finding meaningful progress in-betwixt stable chapters, deft way-shaping amidst complexity, emergence and change (with wit, wisdom & wiles)
  • Thought Leadership (spellcraft)—cultivating an authentic and intellectually honest body of work (your private grimoire and your public essays, books, presentations and other published works) + developing your unique voice and perspective, along with the magic to bring your ideas to life.
  • Wyrd Work—this is for the much stranger work of cultivating (and catalysing) that which is to become. Apt for anyone who has entered their “dark forest” cocoon chapter and is questing through mid-life dissolution and disintegration, so as to glean the one life you can call your own—and live it.[^ I am referencing a line from All the True Vows by the poet David Whyte here. This is depth work, and the kind of guidance required for anyone in such a chapter must be more-than-rational. My use of ‘cocoon’ here is also an reference to Bill Plotkin’s The Journey of Soul Initiation.] Wyrd Work could also be thought of as ‘motivation for adults who have outgrown machine mode’—for those of us ready to step into mythic mode.
If any of this speaks to you, there are two ways you can access fox-wizardly guidance.

1. If you’d like focused 1:1 time without any membership, private consultations are available at the same fee as The Querent below. More expedience, fewer perks.

2. Supporting my work via one of the four options listed below. ♡

The Museletterfree

I write a museletter for friends; a warm epistle ostensibly offering wit, wisdom & wiles to help you live and lead in this time betwixt worlds.

Delivered to you every whimsday (via raven), once or twice a month. It’s free to subscribe, loved by thousands—and you can unsubscribe at any time with a single click. Oh, and it ought go without saying, but: all of my writing is my own (not AI).

Also, other than the welcome email, there are no automated emails. You won’t be put into a ‘sales funnel,’ nor subject to a constant barrage of up-sells. I don’t abide such myself, and I genuinely treat The Museletter as something I write to friends. I have been doing this for over fifteen years now, and have met with many subscribers around the world. It’s a labour of love—and you’d be welcome company.

The Quester ⟠ $99/y

This membership supports my work (thank you), and grants you the ability to ask questions directly to me.

Ask me anything on your mind (anything!) and I'll respond in a public museletter, podcast, or post. Your questions shape the work, and everyone will get to benefit from the dubious and sometimes apt perspective I offer in response. You will also get full commenting access across all posts, behind-the-scenes insight into upcoming books and programs, along with discounts to live programs and events.

This is my patron-like tier—your support encourages my work.

The Querent ⟠ $999/y

Some questions warrant more than a general public response. If the knowledge you seek requires intentional time in conversation and exploration together—this is the option for you.

In addition to all of the benefits of The Quester, The Querent grants you a single live 1:1 guidance session (online) for an hour or so.

Once you become a member I’ll reach out so that we can arrange a time. Our session together is shaped entirely by what you bring. This isn’t therapy or consulting—but something closer to what a good mentor and friend brings when giving you their fullest attention. Or rather: a good wyrd-working rogue wizard.

The Quixotic ⟠ $9,999/y

To be quixotic is to be foolishly idealistic. The Fool, in tarot, represents the beginnings of a new cycle. The Fool also precedes The Magician; this is pure potential before we apply the will and craft to shape it.

This is the closest thing to Wyrd Work apprenticeship I offer outside of The School of Fox Wizardry. In addition to the perks of The Querent, you’ll get four additional 1:1 sessions, scheduled to a Fibonacci cadence. That’s five (5) sessions across the year. The gaps between our sessions will be approximately: 1, 1, 2, and 3 months.[^ If you were to join in January, our sessions would look like this: January, March, May, August, December.] In other words: more intense towards the beginning of our work, so as to generate the momentum to see you through the year.

This option is ideal for those questing in the dark forest or working towards complex goals. You’ll also get access to a private (Signal) text and audio channel for the year, wherein you can ask questions as they arise between each session.[^ You won’t have me ‘on tap’ per se—but I’ll be there for you whenever you find yourself at the crossroads.]

All of these membership options are offered at rates substantially reduced from my enterprise consulting (which is a different kind of work).

A quest beckons...
