Hoy friends! A new season of the podcast approaches, which heralds a shifting of shape and form. Ye (now olde) “*foxwizard ◊ questing betwixt*” podcast is in the midst of becoming “[*Wyrd Work with Dr Fox*](https://www.foxwizard.com/podcast/)*.*”

This particular episode is a protracted throat clearing and prelude, with hints of housekeeping.

## A note on “Kindred Spirits”

In this prelude I take the opportunity to remind folks that the much beloved “[Kindred Spirits](https://kindredspiritspod.substack.com/)” podcast has now moved to [kindredspiritspod.substack.com](https://kindredspiritspod.substack.com/). You can subscribe to the these episodes via [Apple Podcasts](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/kindred-spirits/id1873841039?ref=foxwizard.com), [Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/show/1Tyq3Bh4UStgqeR4G0XtdK?ref=foxwizard.com), or directly via [RSS](https://api.substack.com/feed/podcast/5815846.rss).

Kindred Spirits was originally intended to be just a few “bonus” episodes on the “foxwizard ◊ questing betwixt” podcast—but it’s really taken a life of it’s own!

Giving the podcast its own home (albeit within substack) means that it can grow to become its own thing. Which, in turn, means that [*Wyrd Work with Dr Fox*](https://www.foxwizard.com/podcast/) is free become its own thing, too.

## What is Wyrd Work?

That’s a good question! I’m not entirely sure myself. But it’s something I have been doing for quite a whiles. The first episode of the new season will dive into this. But in the meantime, here’s a quick descriptor.

> Wyrd is (amongst other things) olde fae magic pertaining to the shaping of *that which is to become*. Wyrd Work thus involves deftly cultivating (and perturbing) the underlying conditions of an entangled system—so as to quicken and catalyse **emergence**, **development** and **change**.

There’s more to it, naturally—stay tuned for episode one.

## What happened to “questing betwixt”?

That was a nice phrase, wasn’t it? I still like it. And it still remains apt.

The first season of the podcast—“*foxwizard ◊ questing betwixt*”—was very much a season in which I myself was “questing betwixt.” Having stepped through [The Window of Disenchantment](https://www.foxwizard.com/e2/), I needed to get some experience questing amidst and betwixt my own dissolution for a while. Years, it would seem. In the final episode of season one (before my [poetic interlude](https://www.foxwizard.com/poetic-interlude/)), I discussed shared some [Knowledge of Curses](https://www.foxwizard.com/knowledge-of-curses/). Curses, btw, remain emphatically *not* my magic. But in the discussion of such, I found my way to what we might call a blessing and release.

So! Themes of liminality and in-between-ness will continue into the new season—only now it will be *slightly* less solipsistic and very much more focused on the oblique sensibilities of—for want of a better term—Wyrd Work.

In the midwinter of 2019 I “deleted” my previous podcast and more than half a dozen years of writing. (I was a year or so into my Descent back then, yes let’s call it that.) Here’s [what I wrote at the time](https://www.foxwizard.com/immolation/):

> *“The Internet therefore encourages a kind of rigidity to your identity. A petrification of your past, and a fixedness of ‘self’...*
>
> *You are not your LinkedIn profile, your feed. You are not your work. You can set the torch to your online profiles, and to all the photos, videos, and articles you’ve uploaded and shared in the past. Light it ablaze and clear the way for that which may come.*
>
> **It’s what I've just done.**”

It is taking all of me to not delete my past work again. But this time I shall leave a trail.

## A favour!

Within this episode, astute listeners may hear me squirm in this episode as I debase myself in the asking of a smol favour—if you are an appreciator of my work, would you be happy to leave a positive review of the podcast on your favourite podcast platform? After so many years in the dark forest, I’d like for this new season to launch well.

[Apple Podcasts](https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/foxwizard/id1645970777?ref=foxwizard.com) and [Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/show/2hkJuLE5VMED5rvDqnH4RL?ref=foxwizard.com) are the main ones. A kind review is wondrously encouraging, and it also helps others to find the podcast, too. TYSM!
