Complexity as Preference

On meeting people where they’re at.

I recently wrote a lengthy museletter on the conflict betwixt my egalitarian default of relating to everyone horizontally (where all hierarchies are theatrical) and the model of hierarchical complexity (where hierarchies are quite mathematically telling). These two notions are seemingly at odds, and have conjured a tension most vexing—and I have only recently figured out out to resolve this.

And yet I still haven’t quite figured out how to manage both the official museletter/podcast that is hosted over at fox.substack.com and the supposedly more casual blogging that is meant to happen here. Tensions abound! Sometimes I wonder if I intentionally manifest such paradox, so as to vex myself for my own amusement.

Anyhoo, for now, I shall just leave you with a link to the musing and podcast itself —> https://fox.substack.com/p/complexity-as-preference <— wherein I unpack how we might meet people where they’re at, with erudition and aplomb.
